About Workforce Essentials Workshops
At Workforce Opportunity Services, our mission is to connect individuals from underserved populations with transformative career opportunities. One of the most impactful ways we accomplish this mission is through the power of education.
That’s why we’ve developed an online four-day workshop for early-career individuals. Based on 20 years of research-based workforce development experience, the Workforce Essentials Workshop is designed to:
- Develop problem-solving abilities
- Encourage personal and professional goal-setting
- Cultivate workplace literacy and professional values
- Build transferable career skills
- Improve individuals’ self-esteem, confidence, and overall wellness
- Provide a framework for lifelong learning and metacognition
We’ve partnered with the Columbia University Center for Technology Management to provide all students who complete the program with a certificate of completion, helping students get noticed and hired by employers.
How You Can Help
Since we launched the Workforce Essentials Workshop in November 2020, we’ve seen an incredibly positive impact on the trajectory of our students’ lives. In order to sustain the program and continue to offer workshops free of charge for participants, we need your help! We invite you to consider making a recurring or one-time donation to help WOS build a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
